Taj Mahal site covers a huge area on the bank of River Yamuna. The main gateway of Taj Mahal is quite long away from the main monument and complex and the entire area is covered by a typical Mughal garden known as the Charbagh. Apart from rows of colorful flowers, the fountains and the huge marble water tanks that offers a wonderful reflection of the great monument is a major attraction of the Taj Mahal. The gateway of Taj Mahal which offers a wonderful view of the main complex is a structure made of red sandstones. One one side of the gateway you would find the huge rest house which were used by Mughal emperors and just opposite to it lies the mosque and the two structures are mirror images of each other.
After having a look at th rest house and the mosque, you would step in the main entrance of Taj Mahal which had gone past the two sides of the water tank. The area is quite large and there are lot of places around the water tank where you can sit and take photograph of your friends and family members with the great monument in the background.
The main Taj Mahal site is wrapped totally of white marble stone and thus looks very bright even in the moonlit night. The tomb, the largest structure in the monument complex is the most beautiful part of Taj Mahal. Watch the wonderful stone carvings, the floral motifs on the walls, the stone carved writings. Inside the complex there is a chamber where you would find the tomb of both Mumtaz and Shah Jahan, the creator of the monument.
